7.1% of tweets sent to the women in the study were “problematic” or “abusive”. Amounts to 1.1 million tweets mentioning 778 women across the year, or one every 30 seconds.

This sounds horrifying, and puts so much perspective

I cannot imagine how one feels if they get a message every 30 seconds saying horrible things to them, abusing them, threatening them. This is quite sad. Where do these people exist (they are among us!), why do they do it?
I know I'd feel nervous and scared all the time.
